Farm Homestay

Dating from the 1850s, Maison Glaces & Cows was completely renovated during the early 1990s.

The House
The large, open first floor includes a kitchen/dining room and living room. A wood pellet stove was recently installed in the kitchen, and a wood-burning stove keeps the living room cozy.

There are three bedrooms with beds for seven guests, including three double beds and one single bed. If you are more than seven people, the sofa opens up.

Just next-door is our dairy farm. With our 45 milking farms, we provide milk for the famous Abbaye de Tamié cheese, made by the monks, and since 2009, we also make farm-fresh ice cream and sorbet.

The Surrounding Area
With just a handful of houses located at Malapalud at the Col de Tamié, we hope you'll find the tranquility you're looking for! While you're in the area, visit the Abbaye de Tamié monastery located just over the hill, or the new ropes course at the Fort de Tamié, both within walking distance. The Col de Tamié is well known with cyclists, with the Tour de France passing by most recently in 2013. Ride from Tamié down to Lake Annecy, where the bicycle path winds around the lake. And of course, there is plenty of hiking to do!

In the winter, La Sambuy, Seythenex ski resort is just 15 minutes away, and the largest ski resorts in the world can be reached in within an hour's drive. Cross-country skiing is a 5-minute drive away, at the Foyer de Ski de Fond in Les Combes, Seythenex. Or, just outside your front door, strap on your snowshoes and wander through the snow-covered pastures for a moonlit walk.
